Rights Bytes India Project April 09 – July 09
Participate in a very exciting new project – Rights Bytes – which involves children from all over the world in making films, digital AV presentations based on their perspectives of child rights.
Centre for Development Education is managing the Indian side of the Rights Bytes project and will have five schools/ children’s groups making a film/ digital AV presentations. Some of these AVs may be telecast on the British Chew TV Channels and will be showcased on the exclusive Rights Bytes Website.
CDE will
- Involve five schools/ children’s groups in the project.
- Produce the five films/ digital presentations from India – Pune-Mumbai.
- Provide support to the project in terms of time, coordination, and community resources.
- Conduct a small Rights Bytes Film festival where all these films will be shown to a select audience.
- Provide certificates to the children who have participated in this project.
The school will
- Encourage children to conceptualise, develop ideas, act/direct/develop artwork for the digital media presentation.
- Involve parents, community etc if required to assist in production of the film/ digital media.
- Complete the project and submit the finished product in Quicktime DV PAL 48 khz format (cd/ upload/ dvd, etc) before the due date decided upon mutually.
Rights Bytes/ Chew TV will upload the film on their website. Some of the best films may be telecast on the Chew TV Channel, UK.
